(Be warned, I am not going to let the cat out of the bag too much because I don’t want to steal Jimmy’s thunder for the events yet to come in Sydney, Brisbane & Adelaide!)
But I will say, that I think Byron locals got an unexpected treat in Jimmy Moore at the Low Carb Down Under Event this week.
Not so many hands went up when he asked if the crowd was familiar with his wildly successful podcasts and blog, but this lucky group of people got to meet and talk with the insightful, passionate and inspiring man that is Jimmy Moore.
Something that few of Jimmy’s listeners and readers ever get the chance to experience in person.
Jimmy shared his ongoing weight-loss journey with us (and it has been a rollercoaster of a journey!)
Going from close to 190 kgs and 16 bottles of coke a day, to wash down his favourite fast foods and chocolate biscuits, down to 96 kgs.
Back up to an inflamed 139 kgs and now down to a weight that I am not going to disclose — you will have to wait and see
— but suffice to say, Jimmy who was “eating ketones” as he spoke to us, is more energetic and fighting fit than the last time he passed this body weight.
We also got the latest low-down on Jimmy’s n=1 ketosis experiment and his insight on the top 5 mistakes he made on a standard (even Paleo) low carb diet that going into nutritional ketosis has ‘rescued him’ from.

Jimmy asks if we would consider this to be a healthy meal…what do you reckon? Looks a little low in fat?
I have seen Jimmy give this presentation twice now and both times have come away feeling totally empowered and inspired by his story.
Jimmy humbly told us that in the beginning he had no idea what a blog or podcast was.
He now has over a quarter of a million people visit his blog monthly.
And all 3 of his Low-Carb podcasts are now in the top 100 health podcasts on iTunes with Livin’ La Vida Low Carb coming in around 20th.
I will repeat Jimmy’s message here:
Your story matters. Your story has the power to change other peoples lives. You need to be telling your story in whatever way works for you… whatever your talent is. If you are a writer, start a blog. If you are a talker, start a podcast. If you like being in front of the camera, start a YouTube channel.
Thank you Jimmy!
Your simple, yet powerful, message has touched me as it has many others.
I can say that there are plans afoot and you will definitely be seeing some great stuff coming from the Melbourne Paleo contingent.
Not only that, from the feedback and discussions we had on the night and the buzz at the Melbourne Event I am thinking that this groundswell is just going to keep building and building in Australia!
